Creative Interactive Use of Technology in the Classroom

Using technology in the classroom engages students in the active learning process.  Student engagement is essential in learning and a 21st century educator needs to incorporate technology to help students reflect that active learning.  By encouraging students to participate in creation of wiki’s, blogs, and using glogster for example; students can use such technology as experiential learning by applying past learned knowledge with current knowledge to demonstrate authentic learning.  In my classroom I have used various technologies to support active learning such as an adaptable online video simulation product, YouTube videos with follow up discussion, use of smart board, and simulation in the laboratory setting.  Having learned about many new technologies so far in this course will provide new active learning opportunities for my students.
